New Sunnies and a great bottle of wine.....

Thanks babe!
Sunday, Jordan and I went shopping and it was just what I needed! He treated me with a new pair of shades and even picked them out! I was desparate for a new pair. Today at school even my kiddos commented on them and gave me compliments :)

He's a keeper!
Later for dinner my honey cooked me a steak dinner. He bought this special bottle of wine to celebrate our new house. IT WAS YUMMY! A shopping day, good wine and a home cooked steak dinner- he knows just how to butter me up! It was fun to be able to spend the entire day with him. Our schedules are so busy so it makes these days awesome.

Kid's Fashion these days....

At my school the kids have to wear a school shirt and then they can wear whatever they want on the bottom portion of their outfit. I get to see a little glimpse of the kid's (especially the girls in my room) wardrobe styles and I LOVE IT!
Little girls have the cutest things out there right now! Acid washed skirts, sparkly converse, ruffle skits, it's all so adorable. I was taking pictures one day at math centers and started noticing these little items on the kiddos and snapped some shots of it. TOO CUTE!

Feeling Inspired... well kinda

www.printwords.com
So,  a few posts back (in December), I was on a health kick. I was re-claiming myself with working out and eating very strict. I dropped about 10 lbs. and was feeling great. Lately, I feel like my good habits have crumbled and I am slipping into a depressed mode b/c of it. I am doing okay with my food intake. I definitely could clean it up a bit by cutting out some of the little snacks (I'm a salty cracker lover!).
One of my downfalls is when Friday afternoon rolls around, school is done, and I am ready for a beer. I love my weekend cocktails and feel like I deserve to have them. But with that comes the loose fork and empty calories that alcohol contain.
Lastly, my workouts have been few to none. I can feel my body fitting tighter in my clothes and that is one of the WORST feelings ever! It's right up there with fighting with a loved one! My husband is supportive but I know he likes me best when I am feeling good about myself. He encourages me in the best way he knows how but, it's ultimately up to me to get moving.
Most of my dear friends know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Oprah. I think she's the greatest! Well, on her show she had Jennifer Hudson on and well-OH DAMN! Jennifer is a bean pole now or as my mom would call it "a toothpick". I was blown away.
On the show, when Jennifer 1st comes out, Oprah's first question was "what is your total weight loss so far?" and Jennifer said she couldn't say and was looking at her "coach" in the audience for approval. It was bizzare. But Oprah being who she is she got Jennifer to say it and it was a total of 80 lbs!!! Wowzers!

Well after watching that show she seeing how great she look and most of all how great she was saying she felt now, I was inspired. I felt like this is the time of my life I should be feeling healthy and confident about my body.

So, here is my plan.

1.) Workout 4 days out of the 7 per week.
2.) Do not eat empty or unnecessary carbs (breads, crackers, pastas, rice)
3.) Drink 80 fl. oz. of water per day
4.) No diet coke (I've noticed this drink makes me eat more)
5.) As for drinking, only two glasses on the weekend.

I have a food scale I am going to dust off and bring back into daily use as well as lean protein meals with healthy snacks in between.

Feel free to text, email, or call me to ask if I've worked out today.
That will keep me honest and focused!
Thanks for the support!  I will keep you posted!

Mrs. Carroll at the blog called 'The First Grade Parade' is having a meet the teacher blog party.
It's safe to say, since I started blogging I have become obsessed with teacher blogs. I login to my blogger account before Facebook, online banking, or my e-mail. I have gotten so many amazing ideas from these talented teachers hosting these blogs. I am constantly amazed at the women out there teaching, raising a family, and making detailed blog postings for their followers! So very cool!

Well, her is my Get to know the Teacher Blogger tid bit.....
This is me. Gina. I am 26 years old and I have been teaching for a year and a half. I got a job right out of college and got placed in the awesome world of kindergarten.
I went to Un. of Hawaii and would love to go back for my masters degree one day soon.

In June of 2009, I married my best friend.  Our wedding was amazing and I am so happy my entire family was there so be part of it. We are going strong and live everyday to the fullest. No kids, just working hard on establishing our careers for the time being. We are getting our first house this summer and couldn't be happier for this stage in life of being homeowners (yikes!).

Now for the Q & A

Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a teacher?

A:  I would say a fashion stylist for the stars (like Rachel Zoe's job), talk show host (like Kelly Ripa or dare I say it Oprah!), or a retail store owner that carried the hottest shoes and clothes.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A:  running, dancing, singing, painting, blogging, photography, cooking, and spending time with my pooch and the hubs.

Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A: I hated this question when I was little. I would reply with "how can I answer that I'm ** years old, I know I'm gonna change my mind when I get older. But one thing I do know is that I don't want to sell real estate. "    (like all the other people in my family.)

Q: What are your guilty pleasures?
A:  Teen Mom (both seasons), Real Housewives (ALL of THEM), Jeresy Shore, US magazine, french fries, beer, Forever 21, thrift shopping, did I say french fries already?!

Q: What is your biggest fear?!

TSUNAMIS and traveling to a 3rd world country.

A: Q: When you’re on vacation, where do you like to go?
A: Off to California to see my niece and fam bam. Anywhere that has a nice hotel, yummy food, and not a lot of kids. (sounds bad I know b/c I am a teacher, but I think it's b/c I am one I can say that haahahah).

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

A:  If you know better, do better.
Also, don't waste your time worrying about the things you cannot control.

Q: What do you value most in others?

A:  Honesty and realness.

Q: If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass down to your kids, what would it be?

A: Being able to speak up and stand up for yourself when you know it's necessary. Don't let other people beat down your self worth or change your mind on the right thing to do.

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world….living or dead…who would it be?
A:  Oprah or my grandpa Lorenzo ( I miss him a lot.)
Now tell us one random thing about yourself:

In the 6th grade I got Leonardo Dicaprio's number and called his house. He answered the phone but I chickend out and hung up.
